Dinner at Round Table Steak House

On the evening of March 6th, 2009, I went to have dinner with my mother. After I finished filming the movie, my mother and I met at 1912 on ChangJiang Road. At the beginning, we could not decide which restaurant to go to have dinner, but later we were attracted by a western restaurant called Round Table Steak House. I think the reason why we finally chose this one was that there were not too many people in it and we would rather choose a quiet and peaceful place than a noisy and hot place.

At about 19:30, we were in the House and I ordered the steak which the waitress recommends us to try. Before we ate the steak, we had some very delicious soup. 5 minutes later, I started to enjoy my beautiful steak. It was so delicious that I even wanted to order one more. Although there is only a small piece of meat in a big plate, I still like it very much. Steak is a very traditional food in western countries. I think it is not only very delicious but also very healthy. We can gain lots of heat from it and we would not feel so cold in the winter. It was very different from the meat which we cook in china. We always cook it with other kinds of food, so it may lots the original taste of meat. When I eat the steak in the House, it will make me feel more close to the meat. Also, I believe that steak will make me become stronger.

I think the environment in the Round Table Steak House was PERCECT. When I was having steak, it was not very noisy and a singer was singing in the House. It was fantastic and my mother and I all love this western restaurant very much. There are not so many people in the House, it was quiet and peaceful. Also, another very important thing was nobody smoking beside me, it made me feel very nice and I liked the fresh air in the House. I noticed that most people there were youth; maybe we all enjoy this environment. The service was perfect; the waitress let us feel that I was in a palace. She asked us if we need to add water and lots of things, anyway she is willing to service for us. I would recommend my friends to eat there; also I think I will go to Round Table Steak House to have dinner again.

At the gate of the Temple

Last week, on March 1st 2009, I went to see an exhibition in Chao Tian Temple with Helen. She told me there was an exhibition called Exhibition of Nanjing History and Culture. In the morning, my mother drove me there and I met Helen at about 10:00 a.m. at the gate of Chao Tian Temple and then we started our visit.

The exhibition is about the whole history of Nanjing. It shows how Nanjing developed and grows into a large city at present. Nanjing is a city with a thousand-year-long history. There used to be the capital of 6 dynasties. Most of the things shown were artworks which were manmade. However, there were also some parts of bones of primitive men.

In the exhibition, I found that an ancient astronomical instrument attracted my attention. It was very famous in Nanjing. I remembered that I used to see it in an astronomical observatory at the top of Purple Mountain. The instrument seemed to be a very complicated machine. Also, it was not only an astronomical instrument but also an excellent artwork. There are some flying dragons carved on it. I can imagine how developed the science was in ancient time in Nanjing. I stood beside the instrument and looked like a scientist controlling it. That’s really cool! At that time, Chinese people like to make research on the space and lots of stars in it. When I taught the instrument, I can even feel that I am close to the sky.

I liked the exhibition very much. It showed me the wisdom of people in Nanjing. I am really proud to see these artworks and scientific instruments as a boy growing up in Nanjing. I also saw some very famous artwork that I had only seen in the TV before like that ancient astronomical instrument. It was really excited to see these cultural relics. I thought some artworks was so excellent and I even want to take them home (just a joke :-). However, there is no brochure to help introduce the exhibition. It might be difficult for us to understand the meaning or the story of every artwork. On the other hand, it will give me more space to use my brain to imagine how it would be used to do. From the exhibition, I know how Nanjing become such a large city, and i am so proud to live in this city which has a long history. I will study hard to help to make our city and our country become stronger.
